Dr. John Gorman

Dr. John Gorman joined DARPA in May 2013 as a Program Manager for the Strategic Technology Office. His interests include statistical estimation and learning, advanced radar systems, and distributed sensing.


Prior to joining DARPA, Dr. Gorman was Chief Scientist at SET Corporation and SAIC, where he led the development of RF and multi-sensor systems for imaging, tracking, and standoff detection of concealed threats. Dr. Gorman co-founded Cytoprint in 2001, where he developed automated cell phenotype fingerprinting methods for drug discovery. From 1985 to 2001, he was Senior Scientist and principal investigator on advanced exploitation and spatial informatics projects at the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan (ERIM).


Dr. Gorman received Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from Washington University in Saint Louis and a Doctor of Philosophy in electrical engineering systems from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
