LTC Brian Slaughter, USA

Lieutenant Colonel Brian J. Slaughter commissioned in the U.S. Army through the Officer Candidate School (OCS), Fort Benning, Georgia as an Armor Officer (19A) in June 2001.

 

During his 16-years of service, Lieutenant Colonel Slaughter served in numerous positions, most recently as a Senior Knowledge Manager for the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command in Norfolk, VA where he deployed multiple times as part of a Global Response Force for several named operations and JTF Commands. Previous assignments include five years of active duty service as an M1A2 SEP Tank Platoon Leader, Mortar Platoon Leader, Infantry Platoon Leader, and Battalion S1/Adjutant. After transitioning to the U.S. Army Reserves he served as an Assistant Brigade Operations Officer, Troop Commander, 2-398th Cavalry, Battalion Operations Officer, and Squadron Executive Officer, 2-398th Cavalry.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Slaughter is a veteran of multiple overseas deployments including Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Oaken Steel, Operation Odyssey Lightning, Operation Gladiator Shield, U.S. Forces Korea Key Resolve, and support to the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, Djibouti, and JTF-180 Operation Inherent Resolve. His personal and unit awards and decorations include the Bronze Start Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Services Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (one oak leaf cluster), Joint Services Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (four oak leaf clusters), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (two oak leaf clusters), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with bronze hourglass, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Joint Meritorious Unit and Army Valorous Unit Commendations.

 

He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelors in Finance from the University of Central Florida. His military education includes the Armor Officer Basic Course, Quartermaster Officer Advanced Course, Intermediate Level Education, Intermediate Level Education Advanced Operations, Army War College Defense Strategy Course, and is currently a distance education student with the Army War College.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Slaughter has three children; Brady, Kameron, and Emily and resides in Hendersonville, TN.
