Mr. Dan Kaufman
Dan Kaufman is currently the Director of Google’s Advanced Technology and Products division, Google’s research and development lab dedicated to creating next-generation consumer electronics.
Prior to Google, Mr. Kaufman spent 10 years at DARPA, most notably as the first Director of DARPA’s Information Innovation Office (I2O). Mr. Kaufman led the merger of Information Processing Techniques Office and Transformational Convergence Technology Office to create Information Innovation Office. With the creation of I2O, Mr. Kaufman was instrumental in formulating and implementing I2O’s current R&D thrusts in cybersecurity and big data analytics.
Previously, Mr. Kaufman worked for Auratio Consulting, Kalisto Entertainment, Dreamworks Interactive (a joint venture between Microsoft and Dreamworks SKG), and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. Mr. Kaufman has co-authored an 800-page textbook entitled: Corporate Partnering: Structuring and Negotiating Domestic and International Strategic Alliances, and has lectured at Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and U.C. Berkeley.
